Picea glauca 'Pendula' - A very dense weeping spruce. White spruce is usually characterized as shallow rooted; however, depth of rooting in low-latitude soils without a root-restricting layer can be 120 cm, with taproots and sinker roots possibly descending to a depth of 300 cm. This conifer grows approximately 1' per year to reach a height of 10' after 10 years, and perhaps 40'-50' after another 30 years. Prune in June. Use Bone Meal when you first plant. Do not fertilize the first year. Fertilize once a year with a balanced granular fertilizer. Do not plant any deeper than it is in the pot. Do not add any soil or mulch around the base of the stem. Water deeply once a week for about 20-30 minutes whether is rains or not. Plant at least 3-4 feet from any foundation.

Zone 3. 2.5m W x 6m W.  Insignificant fruit and flowers. Pyramidal shape with grey-green foliage. Full sun to part shade. Adaptable soil. 

Does not attract pollinators. It is pollinated by the wind. Deer resistant.
