Ginkgo biloba ‘Blagon’ - A male selection. The dense foliage is made up of fan-shaped, green leaves that turn gold in the fall. Does well in. Urban settings. Their roots go more down instead of out and close to the surface. These deep roots help ginkgo trees access water and nutrients from deep within the soil which can be beneficial for the trees overall health and survival. They grow 13-24” per year. Prune in spring. Use Bone Meal when you first plant. Do not fertilize the first year. Fertilize once a year with a balanced granular fertilizer. Do not plant any deeper than it is in the pot. Do not add any soil or mulch around the base of the stem. Water deeply once or twice a week for about 20-30 minutes whether it rains or not.
