Trillium Grandiflora (White)
4” Pot
Zone 3
Partial Shade/Shade
The whole plant usually disappears by late summer. Best in a woodland situation with rich, moist acidic soil. Not always easy to establish . Plants resent being disturbed but division every 5 to 8 years is possible. This is best done in late summer after plants become dormant. When happy these may begin to spread by self-seeding.
The Provincial flower of Ontario, this has larger blooms than nearly any other species of Trillium. Plants form a low mound of dark-green leaves, bearing large wide-open white flowers in spring that often age to pink.
