3 plants per pot - 6” Pot

These are fully double pansies from Japan sold exclusively to independent garden centers and landscapers not available to mass market

The Elegance Antoinette Mix is a premium, highly sought-after series of ruffled Japanese pansies (Viola x wittrockiana). Bred over two decades by Isao Sato in Japan, this collection is famous for its large, three-dimensional, heavily crinkled petals that resemble delicate, vintage ballgowns. Unlike standard flat pansies, the Antoinette mix features a soft, romantic palette of pastel highlights, including blush pink, lavender, apricot, cream, butter yellow, and muted burgundy.
Because they are grown from seeds, each plant produces a unique, multi-shaded color blend, making every pot a distinct surprise.

Plant Specifications & Growing Habits
  • Size: Compact and mounded, typically reaching 6–8 inches in height and spreading about 6–10 inches wide.
  • Bloom Time: Excellent for cool-season color. They bloom heavily from fall until a hard frost, and easily bounce back for an early spring display.
  • Hardiness: Generally hardy to USDA Zone 6 and can easily tolerate light, temporary frosts.
  • Heat Tolerance: Features improved Gulf Coast heat tolerance compared to traditional heirloom pansies, extending their spring blooming window.

Care & Cultivation Guide
  • Light: Thrives in full sun to partial shade (ideally 6–8 hours of morning sunlight while avoiding scorching late-afternoon heat).
  • Soil: Prefers rich, fertile, loamy soil that drains well. Mixing in organic compost is highly recommended.
  • Watering: Provide moderate, consistent moisture (about 1 inch per week). Allow the top 1–2 inches of soil to dry out between waterings, as they dislike sitting in soggy, waterlogged dirt.
  • Feeding: Apply an all-purpose or bloom-boosting fertilizer every 1–2 weeks to support their heavy, double-petal blooming habit.
  • Maintenance: Deadhead regularly (pinch off faded flowers) to encourage a continuous flush of new buds
