Limelight paniclehydrangea likes full sun in cold climates, afternoon shade in warmer ones, but it does require well-drained soils that do not remain soggy for any amount of time.
To prune, simply cut back by one-third its total height every spring. If you wish, you can apply a granular fertilizer formulated for woody plants (like a rose fertilizer) at that time as well.

Hydrangea paniculata "Limelight' - The bright chartreuse-green blooms are held on strong stems. Beautiful as cut flowers. Nice patio tree. Hydrangeas have shallow root systems – this means that their roots do not grow deep, but rather broadly, they remain close to the ground surface. They grow about 2' per year. Prune in spring. Use Bone Meal when you first plant. Do not fertilize the first year. Fertilize once a year with a balanced granular fertilizer. Do not plant any deeper than it is in the pot. Do not add any soil or mulch around the base of the stem. Water deeply once or twice a week for about 20-30 minutes whether it rains or not.
Zone 3. 2m W x 125-cm Stem H. Patio tree. No fruit. Chartreuse-green flowers on green foliage staying green into the fall. Full sun to part shade. Moist, well drained soil. 125cm #7.
Attracts pollinators. Not deer resistant.
