Horseradish
Armoracia rusticana - A root vegetable grown for the pungent root that can be grated and mixed with vinegar to make sauces or relishes. White flowers appear in mid summer and the root can be harvested in fall.
Zone 4. Full sun. 90cmH x 90cmW. Harvest in October. Root vegetable. Prune in spring. Use Bone Meal when you first plant. Do not fertilize the first year. Fertilize once a year with a balanced granular fertilizer. Do not plant any deeper than it is in the pot. Do not add any soil or mulch around the base of the stem. Water deeply once a week for about 5-10 minutes whether is rains or not.
