10” Hanging Basket

Hedera algeriensis 'Gloire de Marengo' (commonly known as Algerian Ivy or Marengo Ivy) is a vigorous, fast-growing evergreen climbing vine prized for its large, dramatic variegated foliage. It is highly adaptive and grows well both as an outdoor landscape plant and an indoor houseplant.
Key Characteristics
  • Appearance: Features large, heart-shaped or lobed leaves up to 4–5 inches wide. The foliage has a rich dark green and grey-green center with irregular, creamy-white margins. The leaves sit on distinct, deep red stems.
  • Growth Habit: It is a self-clinging climber using aerial rootlets to attach to surfaces. It can scale up to 20 feet tall outdoors or spill beautifully over hanging pots and shelves indoors.
  • Air Purification: Indoors, it acts as a natural air filter. It helps absorb common household toxins like benzene, formaldehyde, and mold particles.
  • Toxicity: Toxic to both humans and pets if ingested. Keep it out of reach of cats and dogs.
Essential Care Guide
Care Factor Requirements
Light Thrives in bright, indirect sunlight. Can tolerate lower light (variegation may fade) or full morning sun, but harsh afternoon sun will scorch the leaves.
Watering Prefers evenly moist but well-drained soil. Water thoroughly when the top inch of soil feels dry. Avoid letting it sit in soggy soil to prevent root rot.
Humidity Appreciates moderate to high humidity. Regular misting or using a pebble tray helps prevent brown leaf tips indoors
