Maple 'Flame Amur'

Acer ginnala 'Flame' - Flame Amur Maple - Makes an outstanding large shrub. Withstands pruning. Grows in part shade, but for the best fall colour place in full sun. Their roots are shallow and generally reach way beyond the canopy of the tree. Water deeply to encourage more root depth. They grow less than 12” per year.  Prune in spring. Use Bone Meal when you first plant. Do not fertilize the first year. Fertilize once a year with a balanced granular fertilizer. Do not plant any deeper than it is in the pot. Do not add any soil or mulch around the base of the stem. Water deeply once a week for about 20-30 minutes whether is rains or not. Plant at least 3-4 feet from any foundation.

Zone 3. 7m W x 7m H. Round form. Yellow-white flowers in May. Red samara fruit. Glossy, dark green foliage that turns fiery-red in the fall. Adaptable soil. 3Gallon.

Does not attract pollinators. Deer resistant.
