Fern 'Maidenhair'
Adiantum pedatum - Deciduous. Remove fading fronds regularly. The dainty fronds are broader than they are long and change to yellow in the fall. Native. They have relatively shallow roots and grows at a slow rate. Prune in spring. Use Bone Meal when you first plant. Do not fertilize the first year. Fertilize once a year with a balanced granular fertilizer. Do not plant any deeper than it is in the pot. Do not add any soil or mulch around the base of the stem. Water deeply once a week whether is rains or not. Plant at least 2 feet from any foundation. Always plant ferns in the spring.
Zone 3. 25cm W x 20cm H. Spreading shape. Light green foliage. Part sun to full shade. Moist and acidic soil. 1Gallon.
Deer resistant. Does not attract pollinators but provides protection for small mammals.
