Wildchild Pink is a vibrant, striking variety of garden mum (Chrysanthemum) known for its vivid, deep pink-magenta blooms and robust, mounding habit. It is widely used in autumn container displays, porch pots, and landscape borders to provide heavy seasonal color from late summer through the fall frost.
Quick Plant Facts
  • Flower Color: Bright, electric pink / magenta petals often with a soft contrasting center.
  • Habit: Dense, rounded, cushion-style mound.
  • Bloom Time: Mid-to-late fall.
  • Light Needs: Full sun (6 to 8 hours daily) for the best flower production.
  • Hardiness: Typically grown as a seasonal annual in cool climates, or perennial in USDA zones 5–9 (Canadian Zone 4b/5 with heavy winter mulch protection).
  • Care and Maintenance
  • Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist. Potted mums dry out fast in crisp autumn air and may need daily watering. Avoid letting them wilt.
  • Soil: Plant in rich, loose, and well-drained soil. Soggy ground will rot the roots. [1, 3]
  • Placement: Perfect for front doorsteps, patios, or popped into garden beds where summer annuals are fading
