The sunset orange mum (
Chrysanthemum morifolium) is a vibrant, mounded perennial famous for its rich autumn-orange double flowers and darker red-brick eyes. It blooms from late summer through fall, growing 14 to 24 inches tall and spreading up to 36 inches wide, making it a favorite for autumn gardens and containers.

  • Light: Full sun (6 or more hours of direct sunlight daily).
  • Soil: Moist, well-drained soil.
  • Water: Average water needs; keep the soil evenly moist.
  • Hardiness: Hardy down to about -10°F (-23.3°C); often grown as an annual or protected perennial in colder zones.
