Annual: Bright, semi-double flowers are held nicely above light feathery foliage. These cheery dependable plants always add colour to the annual border.
Sowing: Sow seed 3 mm (1/8") deep outdoors in a sunny site in late May. Thin to 30-40 cm (12-16") apart. Seed can also be started 4 weeks earlier indoors using a soilless growing medium. Keep at 21C (70F) for the 5-10 day germination period then grow on at a slightly cooler temperature. Harden off and transplant outside after the danger of frost has passed.
Comments: An excellent plant for poor soils and dry location. Easy to grow.
