Clematis 'Jackmanii'

Clematis 'H.F. Young' - Clematis need a support structure to climb. They do not self-cling and climb by curling. They prefer full sun but like having their roots in the shade, in moist soil. Roots are shallow and can go as deep as 4' and can grow up to 2' each year. Prune hard each spring. Use Bone Meal when you first plant. Do not fertilize the first year. Fertilize once a year with a balanced granular fertilizer. Do not plant any deeper than it is in the pot. Do not add any soil or mulch around the base of the stem. Water deeply once a week for about 10 minutes whether is rains or not. Plant at least 3-4 feet from any foundation.

Zone 3. 3.5m. Climbing habit. Green foliage with single, purple flowers from July-Sept. Full sun to part shade. Fertile and moist soil. 1Gallon.

Attracts all pollinators. Deer resistant.
