Thuja occidentalis 'Zmatlik' - The medium green foliage turns to a purple-bronze colour in the fall and winter, creating a dramatic accent to the winter landscape. The curved foliage creates a dense look making it ideal for use as an accent or hedge. In general, conifer roots are less likely to cause damage to foundations than deciduous tree roots. It grows at a slow rate. Prune in spring. Use Bone Meal when you first plant. Do not fertilize the first year. Fertilize once a year with a balanced granular fertilizer. Do not plant any deeper than it is in the pot. Do not add any soil or mulch around the base of the stem. Water deeply once a week for about 20-30 minutes whether is rains or not. Plant at least 3-4 feet from any foundation. 

Zone 4. 1.2m W x 4.5m H. Cone shaped fruit. Insignificant flowers on green foliage. Narrow pyramidal shape. Full sun. Moist, well drained soil. 

Does not attract pollinators. Pollinated by wind. Deer resistant.
