Garlic - Purple Russian

A marble purple stripe variety that is hot but not scorching. The storage capacity is mid to long term storage. The bulb contains 6 cloves on average.

The distinctive wrapper leaves of these big bulbs are slightly purple. It is very spicy eaten raw but mellows when cooked and the garlicky flavour is richly complex. Red Russian garlic has the ability to withstand soggy winter soils better than any of the others. Expect between six and eight substantial cloves per bulb of this flavourful heirloom garlic variety.
