Viburnum 'European Snowball'
Viburnum opulus 'Sterile' - Large globular flowers are green before they change to white snowball-like flowers. Viburnums have a shallow root system of 18" but can go deeper with a regular watering schedule. Water deeply once a week for about 20-30 min. They can grow 1 - 2 feet per year. Prune in spring after it's done flowering. Plant 4' away from any foundation. Use Bone Meal when you first plant and don't fertilize for the first year. Fertilize once a year in spring with a balanced water-soluble fertilizer. Don't plant any deeper than what they are in the pot and don't add any more soil or mulch around the base of the stem.
Zone 2. 4m x 4m. Rounded shape. White flowers in June. No fruit as the plant is sterile. Green foliage into the fall. Full sun to part shade. Adaptable soil. 3Gallon.
Attracts birds and pollinating insects. Deer resistant.
