Viburnum 'Witherod'
Viburnum cassinoides - Witherod - A good plant for mass plantings, naturalizing or shrub borders. Fruit changes from green to pink, then from red to black. Outstanding fall colour. Native. Grows 1.5' per year. Prune in spring. Plant 4' from any foundation. Use Bone Meal when planting and no need to fertilize for the first year. Fertilize with a balanced fertilize once a year. Their root system is woody and shallow and branching. Water deeply once a week for about 20-30 minutes to encourage root depth. Don't plant any deeper than it is in the pot and don't add any soil or mulch around the base of the trunk.
