    Maintenance Notes: 

    Arborvitae likes well-drained but moist soil, and benefits from a 2-3" layer of mulch. It needs little to no pruning, but if you wish to prune, do so in spring, after the new growth has begun to flush out. Avoid cutting into any thick or old stems.
