Spirea 'Magic Carpet'

Spiraea japonica 'Magic Carpet' - The new growth emerges a beautiful red before fading to yellow. Pink flowers on this dwarf shrub make an interesting display all summer long. Grows up to 1-2' per year. Prune in spring. Use Bone Meal when you first plant. Do not fertilize the first year. Fertilize once a year with a balanced granular fertilizer. Do not plant any deeper than it is in the pot. Do not add any soil or mulch around the base of the stem. Water deeply once a week for about 20-30 minutes whether is rains or not. Roots go about 30" deep.

Zone 4, 60cm W x 50cm H. Low, mounding shape. Pink flowers in June to August. Insignificant fruit on gold with red tipped foliage turning a red in the fall. Full sun. Adaptable soil. 3Gallon.

Attracts pollinators. Deer resistant.
