Plum 'Pembina'
Prunus 'Pembina' (Pembina Plum) - The yellow flesh is sweet and juicy. Good for making desserts. Very hardy. A hybrid of a Japanese and Canadian Plum. A wild plum would be an excellent pollinator.
Zone 2. Blooms April to May. Harvest in August. Pollinates with a Brookred or Toka Plum. Clingstone type. Japanese plum type. Medium red fruit. Used for fresh eating, cooking, preserves, drying and canning. Full sun. 12' - 15'. Prune in spring. Use Bone Meal when you first plant. Do not fertilize the first year. Fertilize once a year with a balanced granular fertilizer. Do not plant any deeper than it is in the pot. Do not add any soil or mulch around the base of the stem. Water deeply once a week for about 20-30 minutes whether is rains or not.
