Forsythia ‘Magical Gold’

Forsythia x intermedia ‘Kolgold’ - Extra large, rich golden-yellow flowers completely cover the plant in spring. You’ll never have to worry about when you prune this forsythia, as it blooms on both old and new wood. If you do end up pruning too late, the bloom cycle for the following year will just appear later (June-July).  Prune in spring after it is done flowering. It has a deep root system and is fast growing. Use Bone Meal when you first plant. Do not fertilize the first year. Fertilize once a year with a balanced granular fertilizer. Do not plant any deeper than it is in the pot. Do not add any soil or mulch around the base of the stem. Water deeply once or twice a week for about 10 minutes whether it rains or not.

Zone 5. 125-150cm W x 125cm-150cm H. Upright, multi-stemmed shape. Golden yellow flowers in April-May or June-July. Insignificant fruit on green foliage staying that colour into the fall. Full sun. Adaptable soil. 3Gallon.

Attracts bees. Deer resistant.
