Sorbaria sorbifolia 'Sem' - Sem False Spirea - An extremely eye catching plant. The new growth starts out a pink-red and then slowly changes to a chartreuse green. Grows up to 2' per season. Prune heavy in spring to keep root growth under control. Use Bone Meal when you first plant. Do not fertilize the first year. Fertilize once a year with a balanced granular fertilizer. Do not plant any deeper than it is in the pot. Do not add any soil or mulch around the base of the stem. Water deeply once a week for about 20-30 minutes whether is rains or not. Roots are shallow and fibrous.

Zone 4. 1.2m W x 1.2m H. Upright, rounded shape. White flowers in July and August. Follicle fruit on pink-red foliage turning an insignificant fall colour. Full sun to part shade. Moist, well drained soil. 3Gallon.

Attracts pollinators. Deer resistant.
