Dogwood 'Grey'
Cornus racemosa - Great native shrub for mass planting or naturalizing areas with poor soil conditions. Good fall and winter colour. Birds are attracted to the berries. Has a shallow root system and grows about 1' per year. Prune in spring. Use Bone Meal when you first plant. Do not fertilize the first year. Fertilize once a year with a balanced granular fertilizer. Do not plant any deeper than it is in the pot. Do not add any soil or mulch around the base of the stem. Water deeply once or twice a week for about 10 minutes whether is rains or not.
Zone 4. 5m W x 5m H. Upright, multi-stemmed shape. White flowers in June. White fruit on grey-green foliage turning red-purple in the fall. Full sun to full shade. Adaptable soil. 3Gallon.
Attracts birds and butterflies. Deer resistant.
