Burning Bush ‘Dwarf Winged’
Euonymus alatus 'Compactus' - Dwarf Winged Burning Bush - The ridged, corky bark, red/orange berries and brilliant fall colour are the outstanding features in this popular shrub. They have a fibrous root system that is dense and shallow. They grow about 12” per year. Prune in spring. Use Bone Meal when you first plant. Do not fertilize the first year. Fertilize once a year with a balanced granular fertilizer. Do not plant any deeper than it is in the pot. Do not add any soil or mulch around the base of the stem. Water deeply once or twice a week for about 10 minutes whether it rains or not.
Zone 3. 2m W x 1.5m H. Compact, rounded shape. Yellow-green flowers in June. Orange-red fruit on green foliage turning brilliant red in the fall. Full sun to part shade. Well drained soil. 3Gallon.
Attracts pollinators. Deer resistant.
