Azalea 'Northern Hi-Lights'
Azalea 'Northern Hi-Lights' - Northern Hi-Lights Azalea is clothed in stunning clusters of lightly-scented creamy white trumpet-shaped flowers with a white flare at the ends of the branches in mid spring before the leaves. It has green foliage throughout the season. The narrow leaves turn an outstanding purple in the fall. They have fibrous, shallow roots and grow at a slow rate. Prune in spring after flowering is done. Use Bone Meal when you first plant. Do not fertilize the first year. Fertilize once a year with a balanced granular fertilizer. Do not plant any deeper than it is in the pot. Do not add any soil or mulch around the base of the stem. Water deeply once a week for about 20-30 minutes whether is rains or not. Plant at least 3-4 feet from any foundation.
Zone 4. 1.75m W x 1.5m H. Upright, multi-stemmed shape. White/yellow flowers in May. Insignificant fruit on green foliage turning purple in the fall. Full sun to part shade. Acid loving soil.
Attracts pollinators. Not deer resistant.
