Malus 'Parkland' - Parkland Apple - Parkland is extremely hardy, suitable for the coldest regions of Canada where few other fruit trees can grow. It produces a good fresh eating apple with a pleasant tart and sweet flavour. Few ultra-hardy apples will be able to match its quality! Semi-dwarf.
Zone 3. Blooms in May. Harvest in September. Used for fresh eating. Full sun. Pollinates with Norland, Battleford and Dolgo Crabapple. 12'-15'H. Prune in spring. Use Bone Meal when you first plant. Do not fertilize the first year. Fertilize once a year with a balanced granular fertilizer. Do not plant any deeper than it is in the pot. Do not add any soil or mulch around the base of the stem. Water deeply once a week for about 20-30 minutes whether is rains or not.
