Peat moss is excellent to lighten up heavy soils. It’s a great additive to vegetable gardens. Peat is relatively nuetral in terms of PH so it won’t affect soil PH when mixing in large quantities. It is also a base of most potting soils. It’s a good start if your looking to make your own mix. Start with peat and add perlite and vermiculite with a little bit of lime and you’ll have a super growing medium!
