Days to Harvest: 100. An heirloom from southern France that produces gorgeous, flattened fruits that are heavily ribbed and look amazing similar in shape to a cheese wheel. Fruit average 9kg (20lbs) and are a rich mahogany-brown when fully ripe. Deep orange flesh is fine grained and superb for baking, soups and gnocchi.

Sowing: Sow seed directly outdoors in a sunny site when the soil is at least 18-20C (65-70F). Sow 2.5cm (1") deep, 6 to 8 seed per hills 2m (6') apart.

Comments: Rich, well drained organic soil is best. Fertilize plants regularly and water evenly and deeply through the season.
