Kale Seed Packets - Lacinato
Days to Harvest: 30-60. Heritage Variety. A rather primitive looking kale with strap-like, crinkled blue-green leaves 7.5cm (3") wide by 25cm (10") long. Plants can grow to 1m (39") in height. Baby greens can be harvested from 30 days after planting with full size leaves talking up to 60 days.
Sowing: Sow seed directly outdoors in a sunny site in mid-spring when the soil has warmed but the weather is still cool. Try sowing a fall crop of baby greens about 30 days before your normal first frost date.
Comments: Also known as 'Dinosaur' Kale. Excellent winter hardiness allows for a long harvest. Flavour is enhanced by frost.
