Artichoke Seed Packets - Green Globe Improved

Days to harvest: 100. Thistle like plant produces mature deep green buds with a slight purple tinge. Vigorous perennial can reach 1.5 m (5’) in one year and produce acceptable artichokes. For higher quality, cut back and carry over to second and third years.

Sowing: Sow seeds 6-8 weeks early indoors. Germination requires 10-15 days. Transplant to garden at 10 cm (4”).

Comments: Harvest when artichokes are 5-9 cm (2-4”) in diameter. Fleshy base of scales and hard centre base are edible.
