Actinidia arguta 'Issai' - Issai Hardy Kiwis are self-pollinating vines that produce delicious grape-sized kiwi fruits with edible, fuzz-less skins. They have eight times more vitamin C than oranges! They can be grown much like grapes on a trellis system or climb a pergola. This vine grows fast and can bear up to 100lbs of fruit each year.
Zone 4. 3.5m x 6m. Blooms in spring. Harvest in fall. Full sun to part shade. Prune in spring. Use Bone Meal when you first plant. Do not fertilize the first year. Fertilize once a year with a balanced granular fertilizer. Do not plant any deeper than it is in the pot. Do not add any soil or mulch around the base of the stem. Water deeply once a week for about 5-10 minutes whether is rains or not.
