Blueberry ‘Northcountry’
Vaccinium ‘Northcountry’ - Yields between 2 and 7 lbs per plant. Fruit is small. Flavour is sweet to mild. Plants turn fiery-red in the fall. Some snow protection is required.
Zone 4. 60cmH x 75cmW. Full sun. Harvest in July. Sky blue fruit. Fruit used for fresh eating, cooking, baking and preserves. Prune in spring. Blueberries have shallow roots. Acidic soil. Prune in spring. Use Bone Meal when you first plant. Do not fertilize the first year. Fertilize once a year with a balanced granular fertilizer. Do not plant any deeper than it is in the pot. Do not add any soil or mulch around the base of the stem. Water deeply once a week for about 5-10 minutes whether is rains or not.
