Vaccinium 'Chippewa' - Large fruits on a very compact plant. White flowers in spring followed by small sky-blue fruit. Foliage is a glossy dark green and turns a brilliant orange-red in the fall. Yields 4-7 lbs of sweet tasting blueberries with a juicy texture. Self-fertile but does better with a pollinator.

Zone 4. 125cmH x 60cmW. Fruit is sky-blue. Harvest in July. Chippewa is used for fresh eating, cooking, baking and preserves. Prune in spring. Blueberries have shallow roots. Acidic soil. Prune in spring. Use Bone Meal when you first plant. Do not fertilize the first year. Fertilize once a year with a balanced granular fertilizer. Do not plant any deeper than it is in the pot. Do not add any soil or mulch around the base of the stem. Water deeply once a week for about 5-10 minutes whether is rains or not.
