Rubus subgenus Rubus Watson 'Black Satin' - This beautiful newer variety produces heavy crops of large, firm, oblong blackberries with a delicious, sweet flavour. These berries are excellent for jams, jellies, pies and fresh eating, and they also keep well. The plant is heavy yielding, semi-erect and thornless. It’s self-pollinating but will be more productive when planted with another variety. Highly disease resistant. Blooms in May. Ripens August to September.

Zone 5. 2m H x 1.5m W. Full sun. Prune in spring. Use Bone Meal when you first plant. Do not fertilize the first year. Fertilize once a year with a balanced granular fertilizer. Do not plant any deeper than it is in the pot. Do not add any soil or mulch around the base of the stem. Water deeply once a week for about 5-10 minutes whether is rains or not.
