These bulbs are to be planted in the fall season to ensure blooming in the spring. The time you plant your bulbs is important as planting too soon can cause bulbs to rot, and planting too late can lead to bulbs not having enough time to build up the energy needed for flowering. In early spring, the melting snow and ice will provide the needed moisture as they start to flower and grow. From the months of September to December, bulbs can be planted—even after the first frost if the ground is still workable. To keep the squirrels at bay, we recommend using hen manure. Fertilize with bone meal for healthy root production.
