Calla Lily - Frozen Queen

Frozen Queen is a spectacular calla lily cultivar introduced through years of careful breeding and hybridization, representing a true horticultural breakthrough in ornamental foliage and floral design. This unique perennial bulb was discovered as a one-of-a-kind seedling among thousands of test plants, showcasing nearly translucent, silvery-white ruffled leaves that are irregularly outlined with soft green brush strokes—a distinctive feature caused by naturally low chlorophyll content. The sculptural foliage alone captivates before flowering begins, providing luminous textural interest even in partial shade where few plants brighten dark corners. In midsummer, this botanical masterpiece produces upright, trumpet-shaped wine-red or Bordeaux-colored flowers measuring 4 inches in length with a 2 to 3-inch diameter, rising gracefully above the variegated foliage to create stunning visual contrast. Growing 16 to 18 inches tall with arching foliage, Frozen Queen thrives as a container specimen, patio accent, mixed border plant, or sophisticated indoor houseplant positioned near east or west-facing windows. In colder climates, bulbs are easily lifted and stored indoors during dormancy, allowing repeat cultivation year after year. Perfect for adding dramatic artistic flair, contemporary elegance, and botanical conversation pieces to any garden setting, Frozen Queen delivers unmatched visual impact and refined beauty.
