Symphoricarpos doorenbosil ‘Kolmapinpos’ - Masses of deep pink berries appear in late summer and continue into fall. Great for use as a compact hedge. Prune back to one foot in the early spring to ensure best fruit display. It will fruit in its first year. Not edible. Blooms on new wood. Reaches its mature size in just 2-3 years. Use Bone Meal when you first plant. No need to fertilize until the next year. Fertilize with a balanced granular fertilizer once a year. They have a shallow spreading root system. Water deeply once a week for about 20-30 minutes to encourage root depth whether it rains or not. Do not plant any deeper than what it is in the pot. Do not add any more soil or mulch to the base of the stem.
Zone 3. Upright, rounded shape. 90cm W x 60-90cm H. Pink flowers in June. Pink berries on green foliage staying that colour into the fall. Full sun. Adaptable soil.
Attracts birds and pollinators. Deer resistant.
