Squash Seed Packets - Long Island Cheese

Days to Harvest: 100. A very old heirloom winter squash more commonly known as the "cheese wheel". Tan coloured fruit ranging from 3-5kgs (6.6-11lbs) is smooth, flattened and heavily ribbed. The flesh is deep orange with a sweet flavour resembling butternut squash.

Sowing: Sow outdoors in hills 2.4m (8') apart, 6 seeds per hill after the danger of frost has passed. Seed can be started indoors in plantable paper pots 4 weeks before the last frost date.

Comments: Harvest before heavy frost but after the vine dies or rind hardens leaving 2.5cm (1") of stem attached to the squash. A superb variety for baking.

Approx. 12 sds/pkt.
