Fig - Violette de Bordeaux
A dwarf growth habit and excellent for containers. Self-fertile, the medium-sized, purplish-black fruit has a sweet, dark red interior and many people consider this variety to be one of the best tasting figs for fresh eating or preserves. Produces an early crop followed by a later fruit set in the fall. Figs are ready to pick when they are slightly soft and starting to bend at the neck. Move potted figs indoors in late fall to a garage or basement. Harvest June to August. Full sun.
