Anthurium

This plant sprouts beautiful red or pink coloured spathes that last for months at a time. It is a short, upright plant with medium green heart-shaped leaves and a protruding spadix which is usually white or yellow.

The flamingo-flower has strong green, leathery leaves in arrow shape as well as shiny, red bracts. The flower head is cylindrical in shape and changes colour from white to green and yellow. Under ideal conditions, anthuriums bear flowers all year round. Bright, warm window seat, but without full sun.
